And read the whole article as your final activity. Add this link to your blog/website and summarise the article in a few sentences.. Instead of summarising the article, I have created some key points that I've taken from it using bullet-points; - Don't overuse script fonts, particularly in large doses as it is often hard to read and unappealing. - Don't place type over a busy background as it is often too distracting and hard to read. - Don't use too many fonts in one place, i.e. a website or publication as it's often very confusing and distracting. - Don't fake small caps as it is ugly and unattractive. Instead, find a font that actually uses small caps. - Don't use fake Italics, i.e. slanted type. Instead, choose a font that actually has an Italic case. - Don't use all caps; it is ugly and hard to read, and also associated with shouting. Lower caps is much easier on the eye. - Don't reverse/invert type. Type should always be black and set against a lighter backdrop. It causes less strain on eyes. - Don't combine serifs, i.e. serif and sans serif as it creates unbalance and doesn't flow as well. - Don't use too long or too short measures (how long each line of text is). It prevents the reader from having to fight to construct the sentences themselves.
